What is an Initial Coin Offering (ICO)?

An Initial Coin Offering (ICO), also referred to as an Initial Token Offering, is a crowdfunding method used by blockchain projects. During an ICO, cryptocurrencies or tokens are offered to early investors before being listed on wider marketplaces.

While ICOs can offer unique opportunities, they are also considered high-risk investments. It’s important to thoroughly research the project, its team, and its goals before making any investment decisions. Additionally, to participate in an ICO or interact with smart contracts, a private wallet where you control the private keys is typically required.

Important note

Rain does not support contributions to ICOs, token sales, or smart contracts directly from your Rain account. If you attempt to send funds to an ICO or token sale address using your Rain account, we will not be able to recover those funds or tokens, nor can we guarantee support for those tokens in the future.

If you wish to contribute to an ICO, token sale, or any form of smart contract, please first withdraw your balance to a personal private wallet address and contribute from there.
